Lumpy, Donald,Mickey, and Pooh

Remember Kay's quilt posted 01.06.10 well here's another "coloring book" embroidery quilt. Quilters are so resourceful , checking coloring books for ideas especially for embroidery. What a very special baby quilt from a loving Grandma. oo la la

Favorite Quilt Book

Quilt Walk Festival... Panguitch, Utah

The quilts contained in this book are genius. The stories behind these quilts are brilliant. They are especially close to me because i am a child of the '60's. . I was just beginning my teen years when civil rights issue's began to explode. I was very impressionable. I am a huge fan of Rosa Parks, who refused to sit at the back of the bus.

... Self Doubt...

It took me 10 years after becoming a quilt piecer to develop my very own style.
Several years ago (5) i went to an art show at the Museum of Fine Arts @ the U of U, starring
quilts .
At this very same time i saw a PBS special on "THE QUILTS OF GEE'S BEND"
Oh MyGoodness.......( my direction changed).
*
i found myself drawn to abstact quilts.
(you really can do anything you want with your quilt)
i got comfortable in my own skin with my style.
ps, i still love traditional quilts!!!
*
Here in lies the riddle...... i. never. get. a. chance. to. piece. . (now that i finally have my own style)
*
Long story short
i don't want it to take 10 years for me to find my own style with this quilting thing
long story short
*
***self doubt***
maybe i'm about to embark on growing pains.
*
PS i hate growing pains
if you are a fan of growing pains click here. (just kidding)
time to go load another quilt... then go get new eye glassess ( to give me a brighter outlook)

I Can Not Tell A Lie... I Manipulate My Blog

I Play Around With Post Dates. ( so there you have it)

The Truth is Out! ...

(but only little fixes)

In celebration of Presidents Day as in George Washington. I will not tell a lie,
at least it was not the cherry tree.

thanks Amy for the comment

Circus Panel

Kay found this adorable Circus panel. So colorful and the blocks have the sweetest characters.
Such a cute baby quilt.

Balloon Sue

This is Kay's variation of a Sunbonnet Sue. These adorable Sue's have balloons , so cute. After this was quilted Kay took it home and added some fishing pole Sam's and more balloons. Kay knows there are no quilt police enforcing rules. She also added buttons to the balloons, and that changed them to flowers. Yahoo Kay

So Soft and Sweet

Aurelie will be having a new baby girl come to her house very soon , luckily the quilt will be ready. It is so very beautiful (the quilt). The color that looks gray is actually taupe and the color that looks pink is much more rich and a bit spicy looking. Can't decide which spice, it's between paprika and persimmon( okay, i know persimmon is a fruit). Very nice

Master of Interior Design

Aurelie wanted bumper pads for the crib to match the baby's quilt. She will fold this long thin quilt in half and do some specialty tweaking she figured out, and... ta da the sweetest baby nursery ever. Remember the great prints she got off etsy.

I Spy is Back

A more feminine version this time (above)
adorable "Mother Goose" characters on the back of this one

Amy is doing "I Spy" quilts as gifts for special people in her life. The front is very close to the one posted in December 2 '09 (I Spy With My Little Eye). i just posted the back this time on this one, of course it's a Michael Miller line. So adorable.
