Oh So Happy

i'm just sad that it is not mine
This adorable quilt belongs to Diane H
It will be a quilt for the "Birth Mother" of the baby Rachel is adopting very soon.
Last night my 5 yr old granddaughter was spending time with me while her parents went to the new Harry Potter film. She was very tired but wanted to play downstairs for a bit. She saw this quilt and wanted it so much. i said; " it is my friend Diane's" and she just started to sob (she had a melt down) . she said: "but i have to have it , i just have to", and she was so serious .
The fabric is from Henry Glass (love his stuff) and the line is Marabella

Cozy Flannel and Minkee

Diane pieced another yummy Christmas quilt. This time she used flannels and minkee . Perfect to get comfy on a cold winter's night (and day)
interesting how the "holly" design on the border is not distinguishable as holly.
(the negative space is playing a trick here)

Marlaine's Spectacular Snails Trail

i have always loved the "snails trail" quilt block. The half square triangles on this one have been "fussy" cut to give the appearance of vines winding thru a garden. Just gorgeous Marlaine.

Stunning Florals

The Back The FrontKaren used large floral prints to create this stunning king.
***
(back to the learning curve, i should have used the traditional meander on this one. The floral of the fabric fights the floral of the quilting)
Still very beautiful, and the quilting does look much better in real life than in the photo.

When You Don't Have Time

i needed a fast quilt for a friends new grandbaby. Sadly, i never have time to piece any more, but luckily i have a long arm, so i can get it quilted in good time.
So here's a little secret if you are in a pinch.
You can go to a quilt store or JoAnn's and find adoarable already pieced yardage. The price per yard is higher (of course ). The quilt stores have Moda panels, already pieced, and they are fabulous. Less expensive is Joann's with a coupon (not usually as stunning as quilt store yardage, but doable). This is JoAnn's and it is very sweet. This fabric does not photo well and there's not alot of contrast in individual blocks , but,...it's a soft, cuddley quilt and i have minkee on the back. Sweet
