Strip quilting is one of my favorite piecing methods. It is the method our grandmothers used during very lean times. Any fabric they could round up, and it didn't have to be big pieces,sewed directly on to another strip of totally different fabric . During the depression newspaper was used for stablizing and warmth. The resourcefullness of strip quilting makes it very sentimental to me .Below is my strip quilt. i pieced this quilt and taught this method in 2007 at the "Quilt Walk" in Panguitch , Utah. i try to attend the Quilt Walk Festival every year and have taught classes there several times. So fun
